 TREATMENT COUNSELLOR 

Whiskyjack Treatment Centre Inc is a provincially licensed facility under the Child and Family Services Act and is accredited through the Canadian Accreditation Council.  The organization is designed to accommodate both youth and adult family programs.  

The Opportunity 

Whiskyjack Treatment Centre requires Treatment Counsellors to work the following shiftwork structure: 

  • 4 days on 4 days off 
  • Shifts alternate on a rotation where you work 4-day shifts, 4 days off, and 4 night shifts  
  • Day Shifts are 9am to 9pm/Night Shifts 9pm to 9am 

The Candidate 

As the ideal candidate you possess a demonstrated commitment to serving Indigenous Families with knowledge and experience in traditional and contemporary practices.  The Treatment Counsellor will be a team player, with the willingness to learn and recognize the organization’s mission, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.    A security clearance check is required and the following qualifications: 

  • Community Centred Therapy Program Certification, or a Bachelor of Social Work Degree, or equivalent training from a recognized post-secondary institution. 
  • High School Education with traditional practice and/or counselling experience will be considered. 
  • Must be familiar with computer operations i.e. word, internet, at a minimum. 
  • Class 5 Manitoba Driver’s Licence  
  •  CPR/First Aid, Suicide Intervention, Self-Harm Training, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Skills will be considered an asset. 
  • The willingness to take training on the above listed and others as required. 

The salary range for this position starts at 43,875 to 59,702 annually and offers a comprehensive benefits and pension package.
